Sickness update.

Owen finally fell asleep last night around 11 pm STILL complaining about his ear. We both woke around 330 AM. More Tylenol for Owen. Had to flip his pillow, because his pillow was soaked w/ pus junk from his ear. I had a monster headache, so I got up and take Motrin. I feel like poop this AM. My throat hurts, my head hurts.....I'm going to my doctor this AM. I'm taking Emmett in too, he's already complaining about his legs.

Oh, Meg, I SOSOSO feel for you. This sounds terrible. Sick kids and sick mommas make for some ROUGH days AND nights! Ok, just on what we've been through, as your doc about these things maybe (unsolicited advice, hope it's welcome!): possible narcotic drops for Owen's ear. They help numb and are a good addition to the Tyleonl/Motrin you are already doing. I don't remember name of them, but your ped should. However, we've never actually RUPTURED (poor Owen!!) so I don't know if you can use them at that (terrible!) point. Warm them in your hands before using, the kids don't like them at the cold room temperature. Also, maybe the antibiotic you are using just isn't working. My kids never respond to Amoxicilian for ear infections, so we automatically have to start with something else. Like Owen, even on them, they continue to get worse as the bacteria multiply. Unfortunately, you might have to get a "newer stronger" one that won't be free at your store. =( (been there, done that now here!)

For Emmett, I am guessing she'll do a blood test for cell counts? Maybe request if not...it'd be a very simple procedure for some peace of mind if you don't feel like it's growing pains. (I tend to be a worrier with my kids unexplained aches and pains, so I usually am wanting the peace of mind!!!)If he is saying BOTH legs are hurting, actually that is a bit of peace of mind in itself!!!

We were talking at tennis last night, and one of the girls is really into alternative medicine. She said she has heard Watermelon keeps infections at bay and she recently asked her favorite doc about this, and she said he explained the chemical reaction to her of why this can be true. Guess who drove STRAIGHT to Dierburgs last night to pick up one for my Julia? (one OVERPRICED, OUT OF SEASON one, I need to add! These sick kids ARE $$$!!)But I am at the point I'll try whatever I can! If Julia's ears aren't cleared up by Monday, we're scheduling tubes for her. Aggg!

Ok, we'll be praying for you guys. Keep us posted!
