No better!

Rough night again last night, and the day isn't going much better. Henry has been awake since 6:30 this AM (it's 1:15 now) and refuses to nap. This completely foils my plans, because I was going to clean this AM and go to the store after he woke up, because this PM we are picking Toni and Tyla up from the airport. YEAH! So...now the house won't be clean and we won't have any groceries. Oh well, we'll have each other :). It's been two years, so we have LOTS of catching up to do! And, as an added bonus, her kids have always slept well. So, I'm going to have her observe our situation and HELP US! Some of you suggested that it might be his ears. And, this is possible, but he is on his second set of antibiotics for his ear infection and he acts much happier. But, we go back to the pediatrician on Thursday so I'll know better then.

Does he fall asleep nursing at bedtime? I know with Josie as soon as we moved her schedule up 30 minutes and she would no longer fall asleep nursing she did much better. Also, we did end up having to let her cry it out, but we found that it worked much better if Eric went in to the room, instead of me. One final thought, have you tried cereal right before bedtime, plus nursing?

Even if his ear infection is gone, there still can be fluid in the ear. Be sure your ped does that tympantry test for that and shows you the graph. It is a separate test rather than just looking with the otoscope thingie in the ear..and this fluid can be uncomfortable and affect hearing/speech also. This is not a test they automatically do - you may have to request this. It is quite quick, painless and simple though, so for sure do that. Our doc does it EVERY visit now with my kids...even the well visits, because I want to make sure there is no fluid present.
I remember Ryan at times didn't have an ear infection, but continued to have fluid (until we got tubes) and that was a big factor for us.
Ditto Nikki on the moving up bedtime by 30 minutes...worked for us well too, although this sounds more "serious" than that...but he could be overtired/overstimulated from not sleeping and just not able to get into that good deep sleep, thus he keeps waking.

How is the solid food going? Not that I have any miracle advice, since Miles was sick over the weekend he has forgotten how to go to bed too. He is starting to sit up more and more too. I am right there with you, what the heck?
