Amy took some GORGEOUS photos of my baby today. Check out her site to the left, Photography by Amy, then client proofs to see them. I'll post some more here on the blog tomorrow.
Thanks, Amy! You're the best :)
We spent Memorial Day at our neighbor and good friend's house, the Spindler clan. They had a party celebrating their son, Carson's, third birthday. We had a great time. The weather cooperated and the pool was heated, fun all around. Emmett fell in the deep end (on Eddie's watch...I must add) and I noticed it just as he was climbing out the side. He wasn't scared, so I was thankful for that. But it was a great reminder about how quickly accidents can happen.
Owen has had the best year of school and the most wonderful teacher. Mrs. Kieskowski has really "clicked" w/ Owen. She has pushed him in a way that did NOT happen in kindergarten. He is super excited about school and comes home happy everyday. He talks about things she has taught him constantly. He sings songs she taught. She's absolutely wonderful. And...she's retiring this year. So sad.....Baldwinsville is losing a fabulous teacher!
Henry was 6 months old yesterday (boo hoo). His 6 month appt. was today. He was 16 pounds 9 ounces and 26 1/2 inches. He hasn't gained much weight over the last month. He's only gained a pound and a half in two months. She also said that he was a little behind the curve in developmental milestones i.e. he's not rolling over yet. He went front to back once at four months and never again and he has yet to go back to front. I think he is just such a content baby that he doesn't care about getting any where in a hurry. Owen and Emmett were WAY ahead of the curve in everything (except talking for Owen), so this is a little different. I think he just needs more time :)
Owen's performance of The Beauty and the Beast, through the Syracuse Children's Theatre, was last weekend. Owen was a party guest and an enchanted object (a piece of candy). He had no lines or solos, but still looked awfully cute. It was a trial getting him to go to practice every Sunday. He fougt it every week. Even though, he was the one who originally wanted to do it. Anyway after the last show I said..well you'll never have to go to practice again (oh, btw, he NEVER complained about practicing for The Christmas Carol) and he said, "oh no mom. I want to do it again. It was SO much fun!" UGH!
I've forgotten what a mess babies can make while they are eating! Henry is still getting only cereal (but he's had both rice and oatmeal now) once a day. But it sure makes a mess! He likes to feed himself, too. That certainly doesn't help the mess factor.
BTW, thanks Amy Coff and Ellen Bee for the GREAT bibs. They're wonderful.
Big goals today: getting ready for our neighborhood garage sale (everything must go!) next weekend and raking leaves (still!).
Our neighbor, Sheila, had a play date this afternoon and Henry got a chance to ride in her swing. I'd say he liked it. But then again...he's pretty mellow. There's very little he doesn't like.
I just came across this photo of Emmett at 5 month. He has so little hair compared to Henry! Not so sure they look alike much anymore....
So, I stood on the scale w/ Henry today and I know it's not completely accurate but it said he was 18 pounds. Can his cheeks get any chunkier and his face any rounder?
